The basics of joining BUILT. as a developer or a professional.
No. Developers post projects and assemble teams; professionals create profiles, showcase their work and apply to projects. Both sides meet on the same network under the BUILT. Standard.
Choose 'Find Professionals' if you're a developer or 'Find Projects' if you're a professional, then create your account. You'll be guided through a short onboarding and a quick tutorial of your dashboard.
Browsing the network and creating a profile is free while we're in beta. Posting projects and assembling teams is part of the developer experience on BUILT.

Yes. You can post a project privately and invite specific professionals, or open it to applications from the wider network — your choice.
Once your brief is live you can search and shortlist immediately. Most developers start meaningful conversations within the first few days.
Your project's Team view shows every role, who's filled it and who's still outstanding, with direct messaging to each professional.
Profiles, portfolios, applications and reviews.
A complete profile with your title, location, specialisation, bio, verified credentials and a portfolio of completed work. Profiles with portfolios receive noticeably more invitations.
Open a project, read the brief, choose the role that fits your discipline and submit an application. The developer sees your profile and portfolio alongside it.
Reviews come from developers and teammates you've actually delivered a project with through BUILT. — not anonymous reviewers. They feed your standard rating.
How we check who's on the network.
No. Registration is one pillar. The Standard also weighs experience, the work itself, references and an up-to-date profile — registration is the floor, not the ceiling.
Statutory registrations such as ECSA, SACAP and NHBRC are checked against the issuing body. A professional is only marked verified once that check clears.
Identity, company and experience checks have passed. Trust is then built through the evidence on the profile — work, credentials, references and availability.
